| AQUINO MOVEMENT LAUNCHED IN PAMPANGA |
|

| |
NOVEMBER 23, 2009
MABALACAT -- The Noynoy Aquino for President Movement (NAPM), a group that support the presidential bid of Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was formally launched here Monday.
First district NAPM coordinator Jorge Mamangun told Sun.Star Pampanga that they aim to gather at least a million signatures for Aquino within the first week of the group's launching.
"We are a non-government organization aimed at promoting good governance. Unlike other political parties, our group is primarily moved by volunteerism. We do not give away money or promise rewards to those who want to join us," Mamangun said.
Volunteers from different sectors trooped to booths set up by Aquino supporters to sign their names on registration papers.
Initial reports from LP states that NAPM was already able to get some 200,000 signatures in the City of San Fernando and Mabalacat town.
Mamangun told Sun.Star Pampanga that aside from being a launch pad for Aquino, the group is also promoting awareness on the automation of the 2010 elections.
He said despite efforts to educate the public on the automated poll system, many Filipinos are still unaware of the procedures of poll automation.
